2017 Volunteer Appreciation Dinner

The annual Angels’ Attic Volunteer Appreciation dinner was held at White’s Chapel UMC on Thursday, October 26, 2017. Our loyal, hardworking Angels’ Attic and Angels Too volunteers were honored. This ministry would not be possible without these sorters, steamers, decorators, testers, refinishers, arrangers, researchers, pricers, stagers, straighteners, cleaners, cashiers, picker uppers, deliverers, welcomers, greeters, smilers, and prayerful supporters. Thank you!

Alexander’s Eagle Scout Project

May 20, 2017 – Congratulations to Alexander Pritchard on his advancement to Eagle Scout, the highest rank in the Boy Scouts of America. Angels’ Attic manager, Kathryn Jensen, was honored to speak at Alexander’s Eagle Scout Court of Honor to describe the impact his service project had made on our ministry.  For his Eagle Scout project Alexander lead and managed a team of Scouts to refurbish computers and test and clean household electronics for Angels’ Attic. His project refurbished 21 computer systems, 12 of which were given to deserving, needy families at T. A. Sims Elementary School in Fort Worth, enabling their children to complete school research and homework assignments.  His team also tested and cleaned 128 appliances and electronic items which might have been discarded without his expertise.  His efforts earned a total retail value of $2728.31 for The Attic, and his direct donation of $292.31 enabled us to buy a new steamer for the store.  Thank you, Alexander, for an outstanding project. We at The Attic look forward to hearing great things from you in the future.

Farewell, Carol

May 2017 – With heavy hearts, we bid farewell to Carol George, our Angels Too manager. Carol embodies the generous heart and soul of this ministry and has served as a model and mentor to us all. We look forward to hearing about her adventures as she moves to North Carolina to be near her family. We expect a new satellite location of The Attic to be in her future. Safe journey and God bless, Carol.
